St. Louis Regional (KALN)

St. Louis Regional is the metro's northeast corporate reliever, a towered general-aviation field at Alton with the Mississippi running past its western edge. Two long strips cross toward the northwest corner: an eight-thousand-foot primary, 11/29, and the six-thousand-five-hundred-foot 17/35.

You work Regional Tower beneath St. Louis Approach and the Class B shelf. There is no scheduled airline service: the radio is N-numbers, trainers, transient general aviation and the NetJets and Flexjet fractionals, with corporate jets cycling through the maintenance base on the field. Northwest flow lands and departs the 29 with the 35 alongside it; southeast flow mirrors that on the 11 and the 17. The cycle publishes two arrivals and four departure procedures here, so part of the IFR work flies a procedure and the rest is yours to build.

This is the Steady tier: a general-aviation majority on pavement far longer than the operation needs, where the crossing geometry is the decision rather than the volume.
