San Diego · Field elevation 17 ft · 1 runways · West Flow and East Flow
San Diego International places a large airline schedule on one 9,401-foot runway. Southwest leads the market, with Alaska, United, Delta and American close behind.
You work SoCal Approach. Runway 27 is the FAA's preferred end when conditions allow; runway 09 is the alternate. Every arrival and departure needs the same strip, so a release is a sequencing decision rather than a parallel-runway escape. The FAA's nighttime departure curfew is not clock-driven here.
The Heavy tier is a single-runway throughput challenge. Supported FAA procedures and Class B shelves are included. Exact carrier weights, representative routes and cadence are gameplay calibration; terrain and obstacles near the field, minimum vectoring altitudes and MSAW are not modeled.
