Garden City · Field elevation 2,891 ft · 2 runways · North Flow and South Flow
Garden City Regional is western Kansas' Class D field, with two crossing runways and runway 35 designated by the FAA as the calm-wind runway. The 7,299-foot 17/35 is the precision primary, crossed by the shorter 12/30.
You work Garden City Tower beneath Kansas City Center. American's two daily Dallas / Fort Worth departures share the board with ExecJet and Flexjet corporate traffic, local GA, cargo, training, air-ambulance and military movements. North flow uses 35 with 30 available for arrivals; south flow uses 17 with 12. The current cycle publishes six approaches but no arrival or departure procedures, so every IFR departure leaves on radar vectors.
This is the Steady tier: a GA-majority western Kansas operation whose pressure comes from fitting regional and corporate traffic through two crossing runways, not from hub volume.
