Central Illinois Regional (KBMI)

Central Illinois Regional serves Bloomington-Normal from two crossing runways on flat prairie halfway between Chicago and St. Louis. The eight-thousand-foot 2/20 carries the airline work, and 11/29, at six thousand five hundred feet, crosses it near the middle of the field and is fully instrumented in its own right.

You work Bloomington Tower. American and Delta regional jets connect the field to their hubs, Allegiant runs the leisure flights, and a FedEx 757 shares the sequence with a general-aviation majority underneath. The current FAA cycle publishes ten approaches here but no arrivals and no departure procedures, so every IFR flight enters on a real approach feeder and every departure leaves on a heading you assign. South flow works the 20 and the 29; north flow is the mirror on the 2 and the 11.

This is the Steady tier: a real regional-jet and cargo bank over a busy prairie GA field, with the crossing runways rather than the volume setting the pace.
