Des Moines · Field elevation 958 ft · 2 runways · Northeast Flow and Southwest Flow
Des Moines International Airport has two intersecting long runways, 5/23 and 13/31. American, Allegiant, Delta, Frontier, Southwest and United serve the city alongside corporate and general aviation traffic.
You work Des Moines Approach. The modeled northeast flow lands and departs runway 5; the southwest flow uses 23. Runway 13/31 stays visible as crossing pavement, and published FAA approaches supply the IFR final paths.
The Busy tier is a single-runway sequencing job with a crossing strip to protect. The pinned CIFP yields no usable STAR or SID legs, so arrivals enter without a modeled STAR and IFR departures receive radar vectors. Runway-use choice, carrier weights, route subset and cadence are gameplay calibration. Terrain, minimum vectoring altitudes and MSAW are not modeled.
