Louisville Muhammad Ali International (KSDF)

Louisville Muhammad Ali International is the UPS Worldport field, a global freight hub south of the Ohio River. Two north-south parallels carry the normal operation, with the nearly twelve-thousand-foot 17R/35L beside the shorter 17L/35R and the 11/29 crosswind laid across their north ends.

Louisville works both parallels in south flow and reverses them in north flow; 11/29 stays outside those normal configurations, although runway 29 remains available for an instrument arrival and runway 11 is visual only. The current cycle publishes four arrivals, seven departure procedures and fourteen approaches. UPS dominates the freight banks, with FedEx also on the cargo side; American, Southwest, Delta, United, Breeze, Allegiant and Sun Country make up the passenger stream, and Reach Hercules traffic comes off the Kentucky Air National Guard ramp.

This is the Heavy tier: converging cargo banks, passenger traffic and military lift on two active parallels, with the wake mix and the Worldport cadence providing the pressure.
