Fort Lauderdale · Field elevation 65 ft · 2 runways · East Flow and West Flow
Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International runs two long east-west parallels under Miami Approach. JetBlue's expanded flying joins Delta, Southwest, American, United and other carriers on a busy Atlantic-coast board.
East flow lands 10L and departs 10R. West flow lands 28R and departs 28L. Both runways can handle both roles in the FAA capacity profile, so that fixed split is a game simplification rather than a published runway assignment. The supported FAA arrivals, departures and approaches feed the traffic.
This is the Heavy tier: two parallel streams, wake spacing and a changed carrier mix after Spirit ceased flying. Airline weights and traffic cadence are modeled choices. Offshore VFR restrictions, noise procedures, the shoreline, terrain, minimum vectoring altitudes and MSAW are not modeled.
